JACK BUSSIERE

President

Jack is a third-year general civil engineering student serving as this year’s CPP ASCE President.  He has served as the Vice President, Internal and Events Chair for CPP ASCE and is also heavily involved with CPP Steel Bridge.  He plans to remain involved with both CPP ASCE and CPP Steel Bridge for the remainder of his college career while serving as a leader for both clubs.  Jack is excited to continue CPP ASCE’s legacy of success and working diligently to provide student members with countless opportunities to grow as young professionals.  When he is not busy with school, clubs, or work, Jack enjoys spending his free time skiing, backpacking, exploring, camping, or watching Formula 1.

BENJAMIN MYO-FLORES

Vice President, Internal

Ben is a third-year general civil engineering student serving as this year’s ASCE Vice President, Internal at CPP. He is excited to take on a higher position and meet and network with many great people associated with ASCE. Currently, he is interested in transportation and structural applications in civil engineering. However, he is eager to gain more knowledge and experience in the different disciplines throughout his career as an engineer. When he is not busy with school, clubs, or work, Ben enjoys spending his time with friends and family, he likes staying active, planning trips, going out into nature, and playing Stardew Valley.

MARIA PRYAKHINA

Vice President, External

Maria is a third-year general civil engineering student serving as this year’s Vice President External. She served as First-Year Representative for ASCE (2022-2023), and continued her involvement with ASCE last year serving as Secretary (2023-2024.) Maria is excited to connect with professionals and continue serving on the ASCE board. She is also excited to serve as the paddling captain for CPP’s Concrete Canoe. She plans to continue being a member of Cal Poly Pomona’s SWE for the following year. Maria is currently interested in structures and transportations, but is open to exploring all different disciplines of civil engineering. In her free time she enjoys the gym, learning new languages, painting, exploring new places, hanging out with her friends, cooking and shopping.

MATTHEW MCGRODY

Treasurer

Matthew is a third-year civil engineering student with an emphasis in general civil engineering. This year he will be serving as Treasurer, and he is looking forward to keeping track of the budget in order to prepare for PSWS at CPP. He is looking forward to continuing to gain leadership experience and communication skills, using his experience planning events like PSWS and the CE Department Banquet previous years. Matthew interned at Granite Construction during summer and is hoping to gain more hands-on experience in the civil engineering field. During his free time, he enjoys playing sports, and video games, as well as watching shows/movies. Additionally, he likes teaching as he is a tutor for students of all ages.

JOCELYN GOMEZ

Secretary

Jocelyn is a second year civil engineering student and will be serving as the 2024-2025 Secretary! Alongside her involvement with CPP ASCE, she is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and a Kellogg Honors College student. Last year, Jocelyn had the joy of serving both, ASCE and ITE, as a First-Year Representative. Highlights of last school year include visiting Hawaii to attend the 2024 ASCE Pacific Southwest Symposium and also visiting Washington D.C. to attend the 103rd Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting. She interned with KOA Corporation this past summer, getting hands-on experience in the transportation design field. When she is not busy with school, she loves serving in the toddlers ministry at Mission Bible Church, watching the Andy Griffith Show with her family, or strolling around at Trader Joe’s.

RYAN BRIEGEL

Alumni Relations Chair

Ryan is a fourth-year environmental civil engineering student serving as this year’s Alumni Relations Chair. He is currently the Co-Captain of the ASC Reno Concrete Solutions Team and was previously the Events Chair for CPP DBIA from 2022-2024. He is always looking for new opportunities to gain more experience and make connections in the industry. Outside of school, he enjoys basketball, running, and photography.

PAOLA HUERTA

Alumni Relations Chair

Paola is a third-year environmental civil engineering student with the position of this year’s Alumni Relations Chair. This year is the beginning of a new chapter for her because she is opening to new challenges and experiences. She wants to get involved with college life by taking this great opportunity to be part of the ASCE club. Paola is happy for this opportunity since she is going to be available to learn more about engineering, networking with others, and persevere in her career. She loves to stay active such as going to the gym, hiking, volleyball, basketball, and running.

GRANT THOMAS

Conference Chair

Grant is a third-year civil engineering student fulfilling the position of conference chair this year. This is a new experience for Grant as he is new on the board. He plans for the remainder of college to be involved with ASCE as an officer, and contributing to the steel bridge club in the upcoming academic year. Grant is determined to pursue ASCE’s goal of bettering Cal Poly Pomona and host an amazing PSWS at home this year. For hobbies Grant enjoys a multitude of media, basketball, rock climbing, and practicing academic curiosities.

JANINE CABRAL

Events Chair

Janine Cabral is a third-year Civil Engineering student serving as one of the 2024-2025 Event Chairs. This is her first year being involved in ASCE and she hopes to continue to do so in her remaining college career. Joining the ASCE Officer Board was a start to her journey in becoming more involved in the civil engineering industry and expanding on experiences and knowledge for a future career. She hopes to connect with fellow students and industry professionals to create lasting relationships through the amazing events she will create along with her co-chair! In her free time, she has many relaxing hobbies like reading, crocheting, and binging shows or movies.

MATTHEW BROWN

Events Chair

Matthew is a fourth-year Civil Engineering student and is one of the Event Chairs for the 2024-2025 year. This is his first year as an ASCE officer and he looks forward to being a part of the ASCE student chapter for the rest of his time in college. Matthew is ready to help make meaningful and beneficial events for fellow ASCE members. He also hopes to connect with others in the Civil Engineering field. When he is not busy, Matthew enjoys going on walks, surfing, model building, and playing games with friends.

YU QI ZENG

Membership Chair

Yu Qi is a second-year general civil engineering student and is serving as this year’s Membership Chair. Last year, she was a general member but wanted to get more involved with civil engineering clubs. She hopes to learn from this experience and build meaningful connections that will help her grow as an individual. In the future, she hopes to stay involved in ASCE and maybe even participate in other civil-engineering clubs. Outside of clubs and school, Yu Qi likes to watch shows/movies, crochet and do puzzles.

NORA MARTINEZ

Outreach & Community Service Chair

Nora Martinez is a second year general civil engineering student and one of this year's Outreach & Community Service Officers. Additionally, she is serving as the Secretary for this year’s Concrete Canoe team. Previously, she was an ASCE’s first-year representative (2023-2024) and a member of the PSWS Environmental Design construction team. Nora is excited about the endless possibilities the engineering field offers and looks forward to planning engaging community and outreach events for the upcoming school year. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, watching films, visiting amusement parks, and cherishing quality moments with her loved ones.

JEDRIC UGANIZA

Outreach & Community Service Chair

Jedric is a second-year civil engineering student serving as one of the Outreach & Community Service Officers for the CPP ASCE Student Chapter.  Previously, he joined as a general member but wanted to become more involved with civil engineering clubs and activities. He wishes to continue his involvement with ASCE and other civil-related clubs at CPP throughout his college career to build his network and meet professionals in the industry. He is looking forward to planning exciting community events for the upcoming school year. Outside of engineering, Jedric enjoys watching football and basketball, going out with friends, listening to music, and going bowling.

JACELYN DILAY

Publicity Chair

Jacelyn is a second-year general Civil Engineering student serving as one of the CPP ASCE Student Chapter Publicity Chairs for the 2024-2025 academic year. Additionally, she is serving as the Publicity Chair for the 2025 Pacific Southwest Symposium, displaying her passion for promoting ASCE’s initiatives as well as fostering meaningful connections within the civil engineering community. She is committed to staying involved with ASCE throughout her college career, aspiring to make an impact on the community. Outside of her academic and professional interests, Jacelyn enjoys baking, shopping, and karaoke sessions. She is also a fan of traveling and exploring new food!

CORBAN STANFORD

Publicity Chair

Cory is a second-year Environmental Civil Engineering major serving as CPP ASCE Publicity Co-Chair for the Cal Poly Pomona Student Chapter during the 2024-2025 academic year. Cory previously served as First-Year Representative in the 2023-2024 school year and decided to return due to his passion for the ASCE community. In addition to Civil Engineering, Cory is also pursuing a minor in Astronomy. Some of Cory’s hobbies include photography, hiking, running, scrapbooking, and watching movies.

Jackson is a first-year civil engineering student, currently serving as one of the CPP ASCE First Year Representatives for this academic year. Looking to learn and grow, Jackson aims to maximize his experience with ASCE, seeking to network and develop the skills required for a career in civil engineering. He is excited about meeting new people and participating in various events throughout the year. In his free time, Jackson enjoys spending time with his friends and family, golfing, watching football, and visiting the beach. He also loves listening to music, watching movies and shows, and trying new foods.

DECLAN HAMBLY

First Year Representative

Declan is a first-year civil engineering student, currently serving as one the CPP ASCE First Year Representatives for this academic year. Looking for opportunities to network and meet industry members, gain more understanding and skills in the field, and prepare for a career as a civil engineer, Declan looks forward to serving on the CPP ASCE officer board. He is excited about meeting new people and working with the different members of the CPP ASCE. In his free time, Declan enjoys playing and writing music, snowboarding, spending time with friends, and reading. He also loves camping, wakeboarding, and going to concerts.

LYNETTE SIRAKIE

First Year Representative

Lynette is a third-year civil engineering student, currently serving as one of the CPP ASCE First Year Representatives for this academic year. She is a transfer student from Glendale Community College and is looking to connect with peers and industry professionals. Lynette is looking forward to working alongside all of the ASCE board members and learning more about how the student chapter is run. In her free time, Lynette enjoys reading, honing her archery skills, and discovering new movies and shows.

MAYSA BARAKAT

Steel Bridge Project Manager

Maysa Barakat is a fifth-year general civil engineering student currently serving as the Project Manager for Steel Bridge. This marks her first year as an ASCE Officer, following two years as a general member of ASCE. Prior to her role as Project Manager, she contributed to the construction team from 2022-2023 and held the position of Fabrication Captain from 2023-2024. Maysa's interests lie in structural engineering and project management, and she is enthusiastic about furthering her knowledge in these areas. In her leisure time, Maysa enjoys reading, traveling, visiting Disney, and spending quality time with friends and family.

EDUARDO MARTINEZ

Concrete Canoe Project Manager

Eduardo Martinez is a fouth-year general civil engineering student and is serving as one the Project Manager for Concrete Canoe. This is his third year as an ASCE Officer, he had previously served as one of the Alumni Relations Chair (2022-2023) ,Project Manager for Concrete Canoe (2023-2024) and he is very excited to work with the other officers to provide ASCE members with meaningful and enlightening experiences and opportunities.  This is also his third year being part of the Concrete Canoe team from previously being the Project Manager and Construction Captain (2022-2025). He is currently interested in structures and construction, but he is willing to experience and learn about the various sub-disciplines. Eduardo currently works at Structural as a Project Engineer Intern. Eduardo enjoys reading manga, going to Mexican concerts (Banda), staying active by working out or playing volleyball, and spending time with his family and friends when he is not busy with work, school, or extracurricular activities.

VINCENT JOHNSON-LEE

Concrete Canoe Project Manager

Vincent Johnson-Lee is a fourth-year civil engineering student, currently taking on the role of Project Manager for Concrete Canoe. As this is his first year as an ASCE Officer, Vincent is enthusiastic about collaborating with fellow officers to offer ASCE members valuable and enriching experiences and opportunities. In addition to his involvement with ASCE, he serves as the Vice President of the Design Build Institute of America Student Chapter and is gaining practical experience through his internship at Whiting-Turner on the Kaiser Permanente West LA job site. Outside of his academic and professional commitments, he enjoys snowboarding, constructing intricate Lego sets, and the adventurous hobby of alligator wrangling.

ALEJANDRO TORRES

PSWS 2025 Director

Alejandro is a third-year general civil engineering student and is currently the director for PSWS 2025. In the spring of 2025, Cal Poly Pomona will be hosting the Pacific Southwest Symposium, an occurrence which only takes place once every 13 years! With this event being less than a year away, Alejandro plans to work extremely hard over the next few months to put on the best event he can for all attendees. Additionally, this will be his third year as an ASCE officer, having been a First-year Representative his first year and starting as PSWS director the last year. Alejandro is also currently interning at the Riverside County Department of Transportation, working as part of the Design Department. This will be his second year interning at the county. While his interests do lie in transportation and construction, he is always open to learning more about civil engineering. When Alejandro is not at school, you can usually find him at the movie theater, reading, with his friends/family, or building LEGO.

LAURYN TERAMOTO

PSWS 2025 Logistics Chair

Lauryn is a second year general civil engineering student and will be serving as the Logistics Chair for the 2025 Pacific Southwest Symposium. During the 2023-2024 school year Lauryn served as one of the CPP ASCE Conference Chairs and was also a part of the PSWS Environmental Design Water Testing team. When not immersed in ASCE or studying for classes, she can be found scrolling through Pinterest, painting, sculpting, or taking a long nap. Lauryn hopes to become more involved with the different civil engineering clubs on campus and work with different groups of people along the way.

PABLO BARBOZA

PSWS 2025 Corporate Relations Chair

Pablo is a third-year general civil engineering student and the Corporate Relations Chair for the CPP ASCE’s Pacific Southwest Symposium. Pablo was previously involved in ASCE as last year’s publicity chair and a member of several committees. His leading interests in the field include structural engineering, construction, and transportation engineering. This past summer, he interned with Miller Environmental, INC and GGG demolition. He is extremely excited to learn more about civil engineering and all the ways he can advance himself in his career and life. When he’s not in school, he enjoys listening to music, catching up on his favorite shows, working out, being outside, and eating all kinds of foods.
